I am afraid of color in my art. When looking at the colors in my portfolio, it’s mostly neutrals and pastels. So last fall I decided to branch out and experiment with color. I started with little pops in each photograph but found little success. Eventually, I ended up using colored lighting instead of colored objects. After weeks of experimentation, I noticed something I didn’t expect. The color was affecting my perception of emotions in portraits. After I noticed that, I started to become curious. Did the color affect other people too? So that’s what I’m here to find out. Each portrait is shown twice in order to truly allow the color to affect the viewer. So look at each piece individually and compare how you perceive them. Then look and the two portraits as a whole and watch how your perception of the work changes. And I want to hear from you. So scan the QR code under them and fill out the form so I can learn.
